Tonino’s Pizzeria was named Inverclyde’s ‘Best Food and Drink Business’ at the Bee’s Knees Awards which took place on Friday 7 June 2018 at The Chartroom at Kip Marina in Inverkip and were hosted by comedian, Milton Jones
The Greenock restaurant, which first opened in 2016, saw off competition from The Start-Up Drinks Lab and The New Chocolate Company to win the new category at Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce’s annual business awards with the category sponsored by Riverside Inverclyde.
There were huge cheers for Nicola Temporal and her tablet business, A Spoonful of Sugar, which walked away with the ‘Most Inspiring Sole Trader’ award following a fabulous 18 months for the company. Nicola saw off Penelope Hof (PJH Bookkeeping) and Rory MacDonald’s, Golden Oak Restoration.
There was a further success for Inverclyde’s growing food and drink sector as Port Glasgow-based, The Start-Up Drinks Lab, picked up the ‘Most Promising New Business’ award, beating Clyde Tool Hire and estate agents, McArthur Scott.
￼As well as enjoying the accolades of success, category winners received a crystal trophy and framed certificate. For their promotional purposes, media sponsor Gryffe Studios provides them with a DVD showcasing their business, which was screened for the first time at the gala awards dinner, the major highlight in Inverclyde Chamber’s calendar of events.
