European Championship Cyclists Pop In For Cake At Greenock Cafe
Customers and staff at a Greenock coffee shop got a surprise when the Belgian road cycling team called in to ‘refuel’.
The cyclists called in at The Cottage Coffee Shop in Pottery Street during a training run on Saturday ahead of the men’s road race in Glasgow on Sunday as part of the European Championships.
Brian Davison, who runs the business with co-owner Alistair MacSween, said:
“They were in for more than an hour and had cappuccinos and cakes.
“The customers were all very excited. They posed for photos including with a couple of the kids who were there.
“It was a really good day. It was fantastic to see one of the guys win a bronze medal the next day.”
