Clyde Comedy Festival Kicks Off Tonight
This weekend sees the first Clyde Comedy Festival taking place across a number of Taste Inverclyde eateries.
The aim is to create a new event on the Inverclyde calendar which with support from Inverclyde Council runs independently, with venues leading on their own event to, hopefully, become self-sustaining and encourage collaboration.
The events start tonight in the Café Continental in Gourock with a free night and end on Sunday night at Greenock’s The Exchange with another free night of top quality comedy.
The Beacon Arts Centre hosts two events: Friday night comedy with Gary Meikle and Gary Faulds (whose solo show is currently sold out at the Beacon for later in the year) and a performance of the comedy play about the world of Scottish Football ‘The Pieman Cometh’ on Sunday. Tickets are available from the Beacon box office and online at their website – links below:
The Albany in Greenock hosts some great names on Friday evening for a bargain price of only £5. Tickets are available from The Albany box office and online here.
Saturday night will be in a marquee at The Chartroom in Kip Marina. Regular on Live at the Apollo and Mock The Week, Milton Jones leads the line up with some top names supporting him. Tickets are available from the Chartroom and online at Eventbrite.
Inverclyde Council is also keen to hear from further venues to take part in next years festival.
