Cafe/Restaurant Plan For Empty Greenock Shop Is Approved
Planners have agreed that an empty shop in Greenock town centre can be used as a cafe or restaurant.
An application was made to change the use of the former Robertsons Outerwear premises at 27 West Blackhall Street.
No further details are given in documents submitted to Inverclyde Council except that there will be no formal kitchen – there will be food and drink preparation and microwave facilities. Inverclyde Council planning department approved the application.
Their report states: “The proposed use…positively contributes to the…vitality of the town centre in bringing a vacant unit back into use with no adverse impact to neighbour amenity.”
An application to change the use of space above the shop from offices to four one-bedroom flats was approved earlier this year.
